Parasitic Jaeger
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

The jaeger is a member of the gull family and can be quite agressive, often stealing food from other birds. The jaeger nests on the arctic tundra during summer, then spends the rest of the year at sea. This one was spotted not far from a nest we figured, since it insistantly dived and squawked at us, trying to scare us away.
